Technical description of soundproofing with Therbobeto®

Floor filling and soundproofing

Existing Substrate

All the surfaces must be free of materials from previous constructions crews such as bricks, plasters, cables, rubbish etc. Our constructions crews carry out the final surface cleaning for the application of Terbobeto®. After the cleaning, is used the laser to obtain its final level to be laid (altitudes).

Primer adhesion

Spraying all of the surface with a primer to ensure optimal adhesion of the Thermobeto® with the existing concrete slab.

First floor filling

The application of the first layer of the Τherbobeto® thermal-insulating and sound-insulating fiber reinforced lightweight concrete with thickness that is able to cover the pipes of the floor networks.

Floor soundproofing

Place the soundproofing membrane over the first layer of filling. The anti-vibration membrane is also turning on the margins of the masonry at a height of 20 cm to avoid creating sound bridges. It is also suggested to use special sound-insulating pieces to further reduce sound transfer (eg in doors)

Final floor flling

The application of the Τherbobeto® heat-proof fiber reinforced lightweight concrete is performed by our specialized crews and with the use of a special press. After the coagulation of Terbobeto®, follow the scratching to its surface to be within the allowed tolerances and to be smooth and clean for the application of the final surface. Scratching of the surface is done after one to three days, depending on the weather conditions.

Floor hardening

Application of special hardeners and reinforcing adhesion to apply the final surface above the floor filling.

Perimetric joint of expansion

Perimetrically, in all masonry, a thermojoint foam is placed at a height higher than the final level of the substrate to form expansion joints with the masonry.

The tiles should be placed without cutting the thermojoint foam. After the installation, the foam is cut, sealed with a suitable material and the skirting board is placed without any contact with the floor tile.

According to national specifications, additional expansion joints may need to be based on mand surface geometry filled with Terbobeto®

Final surface

After seven days, you can proceed with the application of the final surface (tiles, marbles, laminate, etc.)

The final substrates provided by national specifications (eg tiles) should be properly studied and applied with expansion joints during installation.
