- WATERBLOCK PENETRATE is a dry mortar that is applied after mixing with water. It is a mixture of cement, siliceous aggregates and chemical additives that, in the presence of water, react with calcium hydroxide and other derivatives of cement hydration. In this way, insoluble crystals are formed that seal the pores and capillary gaps of the concrete to a depth of about 400 µm.
- The presence of water is necessary for the crystalline action of WATERBLOCK PENETRATE.
- The absence of moisture stops the chemical reaction, so the chemical components remain inactive. The crystallization mechanism is activated again upon re-contact with water. Compared to simple WATERBLOCK, WATERBLOCK PENETRATE ensures the waterproofing of the concrete surface in two ways.
- It combines surface coating with deep penetration-crystallization.
- The sealing is not affected if the sealing coating is damaged.
- It adheres and integrates into the concrete, so it offers a permanent solution for dealing with water.
- It is applied from both the positive and negative side of water pressure to the concrete.
- Seals cracks and pores of the order of 0.4 mm wide even when they appear afterwards.
- It protects the concrete from frost damage, chloride penetration, corrosive salt attack as well as carbonation.
- It allows the permeability of water vapor and thus the permeation of the structural elements.
- It is suitable for applications on surfaces in contact with potable water.)
